The happening was part of Klimafestivalen §112 (Climate Festiva) and took place at Egertogret in Oslo, Norway, January 10th 2015.
Organized by Øyvind Jørgensen and Inger-Reidun Olsen. Produced by Ø.J.Prod.
Duration: 50 minutes
Materials:
20 Euro pallets
20 hammers and crowbars
20 performers
The happening is based on the performance "Rekommandert retning. Hva nå?" by dance artists Øyvind Jørgensen and Inger-Reidun Olsen and visual artist Anna Widén.
Mostly everything we buy is transported on Euro pallets around the world, changing places, those who have been to Aisa come to Norway with the next stop Africa, etc. Euro pallets are made by prisoners in prisons around the world and are standardized.
The euro pallet becomes a symbol of the consumer society, and we all know that shipping our consumer goods pollutes and contributes to climatic changes and the melting of polar ice, which is the focus of the Klimafestivalen/Climate Festival.
The happening involves deconstructing 20 pallets and cleaning up afterwards. A pallet was calculated for each person who participated. Everyone who brought with them a hammer, a handkerchief, work gloves, some also wore hearing protection and safety shoes. Everyone was dressed in black.
Performers: Inger-Reidun Olsen, Øyvind Jørgensen, Anna Widén, Anne Karine Jortvedt, Ingrid Brudevold, Tormod Fuglestad, Hege Rimestad, Maja Ratkje, Pia Krabberød, Lillian Bauer, Magdalena Kaminska, Caroline Jacobsen, Tov Ramstad, Cecilie Lindeman Steen, Eldri Bøhn, Kristine Karåla Øren, Tove-Elena Nicolaysen, Lars Hegg, Tinken Laurantzon and Marianne Albers.
